375 Tailoring

Woot! I hit 375 tailoring last night and now I am broke. Thanks to a number of people for helping out with Shadowcloth so I could make my Frozen Shadoweave robe. My gear is a little better now and I have started pushing my +spell hit so I can keep from resisting on mobs higher level than me. I believe that I am sitting just over 5% so I am going to work on a few more gems and try to push it higher. I have found fighting bosses that they resist a lot of my spells which causes me to use more mana than I should.

And according to TJ all teh cool kids are at the bottom of the damage meter with leather jackets, holey jeans, smokin and drinking, but I dont have a leather jacket. How about an old Carhart jacket and jeans that were too long that I just walked teh hem out of. Of course I will still be smokin and drinkin like a good rebelious lock does.

No, no, I'm just playing. I recently posted that I had apped to a new guild. I got in and have already jumped balls deep into raiding with them. They are not hard core by anymeans, which is good cause I don't have the time to be hardcore, but they don't fuck around when it comes to raiding. 3 nights a week are for progression and the 4th day is optional. We have just started SSC and have Gruul on farm. We went into Mag on Sunday and pwned his as on our 5th attempt. It feels good to be learning new encounters now. I don't mind the wipes and the new boss fights. I think it makes it all worth it when you get it down and take down a new boss.

I need to get better gear. I am not happy being on the bottom of the DPS. I know I should do way better, but time and money are a big factor. I dont have the time to pick up new items yet cause of the points system and I dont have the money to get the last point in tailoring so I can finish off my set. I need to work on getting my +hit raiting up cause I miss alot. I know that will definatley boost my dps.

The Wall

My guild has hit a wall. We can clear all of Kara in roughly 2 days of raiding and don't seem to progress passed that. We do Gruul's on the weekends, but I can't ever make it due to RL plans. I know that we have downed HKM, but that is it. There are a few problems that exist that are keeping us from ever going passed Gruul.

First, our guild is way too casual to really put the time in to push passed or see new content. We have 2 to 3 kara groups running a week, but we have trouble filling the groups some times or for the whole clear. The groups tend to stick with each other and we don't switch out week to week. I dont mind that but we aren't letting people get geared up cause some groups do better than others. At this rate it will take us a year to gear everyone up in Kara gear. No good.

Second, For a long time after the GM quit the game, we had no GM as that what was voted on. The members decided to just have CL officers to run the guild. Ok I guess that is fine but it goes on the saying of too many chiefs and not enough indians. All of our officers were good, but didnt really have a backbone. We had a really good officer that was really trying to push the guild to see new things but the other officers just kinda blew it off like it wasn't important. The other officers wouldn't back him, so not everyone was in agreement. Not good.

Third, we are getting way to repetive, wich goes back to the other points. The game is getting boring and when you speak to officers and they say that they are bored and are going to take a break, you know that they see it too. We recently made a change to the guild, and now have a GM. What really pissed me off was that it was only open to the current officers and didnt like the idea of anyone being able to run for the position and have the whole guild vote on it. Oh and that they want to change the GM every 6 months. I have no clue what that is. Is that supposed to make the guild better? I dont really think it is going to work, since there were only 2 officers that wanted the GM position.

I think what it came down to was they are scared that someone like me or the best officers we had becoming GM and really whiping the guild into shape. They know that we wouldn't be afraid to tell it like it is, or /gkick someone. We recently lost that best officers cause he called someone out and all the other officers were too scared to back him and ridiculed him for calling the douche bag out.

So I think we have hit the wall and topped out on our progression. I have apped to a new guild that seems to be doing well. They getting a late start, but they pushing along. I have friend that got in there and said it was the cat's ass. Hopefully tonight I will go on a recruitment run and get an invite to the guild. Cross your fingers!

Got my Tier 4 Gloves last night in Kara! We cleared through Curator and did an attempt on Nightbane, but didnt down him due to bugged out elite mob showed up and started killing the raid. We decided to call due to it getting late.

Well it has been a while since I have posted anything WoW related to my character progression, so here we go:

I have found more time now to be more active in WoW and have been getting invited to more raids lately, actually I dont think I had a choice on the invite. Cause you see, I'm that good that everyone wants me in their raid group, no not really, but yeah. I have gotten 1 drop and it was only a slight upgrade. I will just add it to the list of epics I equip now. No big deal. The big deal is that we have officially put Kara on farm status since we took down Nethersprite last night.

Nethersprite is a fun fight only if people can grab the damn green beam like no body's business, but if the hesitate or loose it, it heals Nethersprite for 1% total healther every second. The nice thing is that when the tank grabs the red beam, all aggro goes to the tank, and that means the DPS can go all out. I was in rotation with the blue beam and it was nice to see drain life ticking for over 1.2k a tick as the debuff started stacking. With raid buffs, I am only at about 800+ spell damage so to see those kind of numbers from a drain life was awesome. I didnt top the damage meter on this fight, but I was second to the mage that was in roation with me in the blue beam. But she killed me on the damage meter. She had about 10% more damage done than I did.

I also was able to afford my epic flyer. I started on my netherdrake dailies and hit honored in about 3 days. So now I have more than enough dailies to hit my 10 max a day. The nice thing is that after drop the 5.2k on the epic flyer, I am now over 1k gold in only about a week worth of dailies and selling one Jewelcrafting pattern on the AH. The nice thing about have so many dailies is that now I get to pick and choose the easiest ones that return the most gold.

I copied 2 premade characters over to the PTR last night, a warlock, and a hunter. OMG let me tell you how cool the warlock gear is. First the set bonus is nice, It grants your dots on periodic damage to heal you for 70hp per tick. That is very nice for raiding. Between that and my siphon life I should have no problems staying alive in most fights. Second the animation of the helm or shoulders, can't tell wich one, is awesome. Periodically a set of bat wings will come out and start flapping. It looks so cool. I haven't had a chance to try out the hunter, as I don't really know too much about them, the highest hunter alt I have is like 24. We got on so late last night that we didnt have a chance to view any of the content, but I think tonight we are going to try to get a group together and try it out. We also tried out the new voice chat with in WoW. It was really choppy and if you dont have the main volume turned up, it is kinda hard to hear the other people speaking. I don't think our guild will give up vent, but it will make pugging a lot easier now, cause most people will not have an excuse to not have voice chat.

Hmm...Well I think that pretty much wraps it up for my update.

Can you sense the sarcasm in my voice?

I had a trip planned since March to go to San Jose to visit a friend of mine on Wed. I had purchased the tickets in April and put my leave on the books at that time. Well I get told yesterday that I was not able to take my leave due to the upgrade training that I have to complete and take my End of Course test next week. Usually this would not be a big deal, but I was really looking forward to this trip. I had already dropped the cash on the tickets, and my friend was on the ball with pleanty of stuff to do. Now working for the government can have its perks, let me tell you how great it is to flash a military ID and reap the benefits that people throw your way, but it really blows when they tell you that you can't take leave because they felt like it. And no they will not reimburse me for my tickets that I bought 4 months ago. Meh, I can't wait till april when I become a civilan again.

Music or No Music?

Do you listen to any music when you play WoW? Do you listen to the in-game music, or just nothing at all? Do you have some much going on in Vent that you cant concentrate on anything else?

I personally like to load up my Sirius internet radio and listen to Octane 20 and play WoW. At first I had trouble have the music and Vent going at the same time that I couldnt hear or concentrate on what was being said by the Raid Leader. Now I can't play with out it. Even if I am only logging on to check my mail, I have to the music in the background. I don't turn the game sound completely off, I just turn it down.

So tell me, what do you like going on in your background when you load up WoW?

Last weekend I went to a friends birthday party and was having a great time, until, JUDO CHOP right to the fucking throat. Well it was more of a punch, but none the less, it was to my throat! WTF!?! Ok so We were all just chillin around the pool, drinking and talking and having fun sliding down the giganormous inflatable water slide that my friend rented for his party, when out of the blue, this chick I'm dating punches me in the fucking throat. Now at this point I was inhibriated and so was she. I was just sitting there as a couple of my friends were talking about different types of beer and the tastes, when she walked up to me and lashed out at me. I have no clue wtf I did or why she even punched me. Well needless to say, I fucking went off on her. You know how there is always some time of drama that goes on at parties, especially when there are 50 drunk people running around, well I managed to be the drama at the party. Loads of F bombs and WTF's and You punched me in the fucking throat with her just stading there saying, "No I didn't" Well I guess she had enough of the tounge lashing, cause that is all I could do, it's not like I could punch her back, and she calls me a liar and says I'm going to bed. Liar? WTF? Where in teh hell did that come from? I followed her inside to find out wtf she was talking about and couldn't get anything out of her. The next day she wakes up and knows she is pissed at me for something but can't remember why. So later on in the day she calls me and says, "Why am I mad at you?" OMG TYPICAL FUCKING WOMAN! I'm mad at you and don't know why, but I know I should be. Give me a break. So I told her she punched me in the throat and I went off on her. "I didn't punch you in the throat." Um, Ya you did. "Oh, I'm sorry" Well thanks but my throat still hurts fucker.

The moral of the story is always protect yourself, cause you never know when a ninja will come from the bushes and Judo Chop you right in the throat. And if you are a female and reading this, dont be mad at someone if you cant remember why, cause 9 times out of 10, you were in teh wrong cause you just puched your ol'man in the throat.

I received a couple of questions and Im going to answer them here:

You asked for question. So here are the immediate ones that come to mind…- How do you find out about the daily quests? Is there a research site you use? Everything I read talks about them like you should already know and just refers to them as “Dailies”. - Do you like your affliction spec DoTs now that some time has passed? How different is it from how you use to play?- In instances do you have your minion at your side at all times or do you send your minion in to dps?- What Curse do you use primarily in instances?Remember you asked. =P

Dailies; Dailies started after the last major patch. I believe, but I could be wrong, (I dont really remember) but the first quest starts in the middle of Shat next to the Flight Master. This quest will take you to Skettis. Skettis is in the mountains to the south east of the Flight Master in Terrorkar Forrest. Start those quests there. Once you get to a point it will take you to Blades edge mountains and will be able to start doing quests there. As of now I have 5 dailies that I can do, 1 left in Skettis, and 4 in BEM.

My play style; I originally leveled 1-60 as affliction spec'd. I like many aspects about this spec. Siphon life and Nightfall are my 2 favorites. There is nothing like a dot that does damage to your mob and heals you at the same time. Plus it will cause Nightfall to proc and will give you an instant shadow bolt. Once patch 2.0 came out I respec'd to Demonology. The fel guard was a force to be reckoned with. He was awesome. I leveled 60-70 as Deomonology and loved it. I got such a boost in spell damage and with my fel guard I could take on just about anything. Most group quest that were suggested 3 or less I could solo. I stayed as this spec for a long time after hitting 70. I would use my fel guard as an off tank in instances. with health funnel and healers that were willing to heal my pet, we had an off tank that could handle his business. When he wasnt off tanking, I would leave him next to me and use him to help protect the squishies in the group when they would pull aggro. I would leave intercept turned on so I could use him to stop the mob in his tracks and give the tank a chance to regain aggro.
Once we hit Kara, I was asked to respec to affliction, as it was a more viable raid spec. I had more dots and would last way longer for the boss fights. For the trash I would use, Curse of Shadows, ( I spec'd imp CoS) Immolate, Siphon Life, and Corruption. Once dots were applied, I would just shadow bolt till dead. Boss fights I would use the same dots but would add in Unstable affliction. I know this is more of a PvP dot, but that extra dot really helps out alot. I always use my imp now for the stamina buff, and I rarely use anything else. Even when soloing, I can usually take the hits from mobs that i dont need to have a tanking pet handle the hits for me. Plus if the shit hits the fan I just fear and life drain.
Now alot of people will say that apply all of those dots on trash mobs are not needed an will gimp my damage on the damage meters. But I try to weave my dots so I don't pull aggro and that I can take advantage of the cool downs. I will start off with CoS, and then will go into either unstable affliction, or Immolate. I go to these dots next as they have a 1.5 sec cast time. As soon as I finish casting, I go straight to siphon life, then corruption. I have found that this usually means the fasting casting of my dots.
I still dont have the gear to be deadly in my spec. If I was pimped out, I would be able to pull aggro with just allowing my dots to tick, with out even firing a single shadow bolt. I would spec back to demonolgy as right now I dont raid very much anymore, but when I do raid, I know that I can last through any boss fight, and rarely have to drink.

Well I may seemed to be getting more traffic here, and may need to add a little more structure to my blog. So if you come here and are interested in anything pertaining to my WoW life, or RL, drop me a comment of what you want to know.

I have been playing WoW for about a year and half now and I am fairly knowledgeable on my class. I have played every spec a few times now and have done some PvP. Not much but some. So any questions, feel free to let them fly.

I have also been around now for a little while, and know my way around life, some what. So any questions regarding me, and my attempt to make it day to day in such a fucked up world, ask away.

Oh and I only post when I'm at work, cause my job is awesome like that, but not today. I have been hella busy today, but usually I am searching for things to do. Plus I dont really care too much about structure to my blog so any comments on needing to fix something or spelling errors, cause I can't spell for shit, aren't really needed. You can leave them, but that doesn't mean I will change my ways.

Dailies

At the moment I only have 3 daily quest that I can do. Each one pays out around 12g wich isn't too bad. They are mostly easy so the return on the gold is incredible. I have one left in Skettis, where I have to bomb the eggs. This quest is really straight forward, Avoid the birds flying around, and bomb 20 eggs. This quest goes really quick even if numerous people are doing the same quest.

The other 2 quests I have are in Blade's Edge Mountain. The first one is another bombing run where you have to destroy the ammo cache around the cannons. This quest is not hard once you get your rythm down. The main thing to watch out for are the cannons. When you are mounted they will shoot fire balls at you that will dismount you and put a debuff on you that does about 300 a tick for around 10 secs. Now depending on how high you are when you get shot down, dictates if you are going to die for falling damage. That seems to be my problem, I like to fly really high, swoop in and bomb and fly back out really high again. Well sometims I'm not zig zagging enough and BOOM, down I go. That is the only part that is not fun, cause the corpse run is a little long.

The last quest I have is to wrangle the nether rays. EASY. Wrangle 5 nethers and return them back to the quest giver. The only problem here is, I cant use dot's cause at or around 1000hp they can be wrangled and sometimes I get an unlucky crit chain and I kill it. Damn it, gotta go find another one.

Now I know there are more Dailies I could be doing, but I'm lazy and don't care. The 36g I get a day is enough for me. I'm really close to my Epic flying mount so as soon as I drop the cash on that, I will start working on the netherdrake dailies.

Pathetic

Damn, I'm looking at my signature at the top of my page that has my stats on it and boy do I look pathetic. I don't really have the gear that I would like to have due to not being able to attend the raids anymore. I have locks that have never raided before TBC, that outgear me and have way more experience in Kara than I have. I'm not complaining, but I seemed to be at a stand still. I have so busy lately with RL that I don't have the time to play like I used to. I still try to atleast log on and do my dailies, and now that I don't know if I will make a raid, I usually just play an alt.

On the side, I have slowly been leveling my Shammy and she hit 40 last night. Some of the guildies decided to run SM and we went with 4 Shammies, and a Druid. Our levels ranged from 36 to 40 and we were inahliating that place. It was a lot of fun. We only had a couple of deaths, 1 being mine, and the other from the only other 40 in the instance. I hadn't had fun like that in a while. We just went in and just killed stuff. I pushed half a level just last night from that run but I'm sure it wont happen again tonight, as the guild is running Kara. Maybe I will pug it, probably not but, you never know. I just need the last 2 wings to finish my quest and I wont have to go back anymore.

I really enjoy the blog and I may not post as often as most blogs, but I want to keep it going. I enjoy reading other people's blogs so for the few that venture this way, I will try to atleast post something. Most of my posts in the future may not always be WoW related, as don't play as much as I used, but I will at least try to post some of the good things in my life that happen.

RL Post

I missed some raids this week due to RL plans. I have been going out more lately since im single now (ladies dont all come running at once now) and have been putting RL above all. Before i used WoW to keep me out of trouble, but now the gloves are off and im on the prowl again. I may be a little rusty, but i wont give up. I see the light!

Mostly been spending most of my time with my childhood friend that i have known now for 20 years. He has recently joined up with a new band and they fucking rock. They havent been playing together for too long but they have what it takes. They play so well together, that their music is always on. they started doing open mics of course, but after their 8th or so open mics in about 3 months that they already started getting paying gigs. The last open mic they had a man approached them and booked them for 2 different shows at 2 different places, just like that. Every time the sets keep getting bigger and bigger. I have become their sound tech and hope that they start to really take off. Who knows, but i would definatley like to be along for the ride.

But all in all i have been have a really good time finnally getting out again and hanging out with friends. I have a few trips booked already in th future to visit the friends that don't live so close, and i cant wait for that. I'm headed to Vegas this weekend to see Roger Waters in concert, and to have a kick ass time. Im headed to San Jose in August, L.A. and San deigo in September, and I think we are trying to get a trip together to head to North Carolina to meet up with some friends there. I am glad that I started playing this game, cause i have made some good RL friends from it and even though we are spread out accross the world, we all are making an effor to meet up with each other and have some fun. Its good being in a more mature guild, cause if we are all little kids, this would never happen.

As I get older you soon find out who your real friends are and the ones that say they are your friends. I have a few friends now that i feel are on the fence for me. I still hang out with them but i dont expect anything from them. All i know that if i ever needed anything that I know that the friends i keep close would be there for me, and I appreciate that. Thank you fuckers for having my back.

Crazy Bitches Pt 2

remember when i said we got some crazy bitches causing drama in the guild? Well she/he/it (not sure wich one) stuck again. Waaaaa group 1 got further in Kara. Waaaaa you fucked up the quest i was on. Waaaaa i dont want to group with pally anymore, cause im freak of nature and dont know how to control myself and take this GAME way to seriously. Its also funny how she/he/it can say they have a degree and 1337 job but is logged into the game for 20+ hours a day.

The shit finally hit the fan and crazy bitch hit the door. she/he/it was the type of person that felt like they needed to control every aspect of what everybody else was doing, but was to lazy/chicken shit/stupide to run their own guild. Instead they join your guild an wreak havok on everyone else. They are good at what they do. They manage to piss people off that usually dont give a fuck or take this GAME to seriously. Our officers had a meeting and decided that she/he/it needed the boot. Since I'm not an officer (though i should be, guild dick would be nice. I could be the asshole to give bad news and the boot), i was not in on the convo, but i did get all the nasty details afterwards, in a more abridged version, im sure.

This is why they need to make an officer slot for me. Cause i wont put up with that shit. Plus i make all the other officers look good since i would doing all of their dirty work! I could handle that. Plus it would be hella fun, and funny. Hmm maybe if i piss enough people off we can have a guild that was created of people that hated/booted from us, just like over on another server talked about at AFK Gamer. I know our drama doesnt compare to theirs, but its good reading.

I know that a lot of people are worried that we lost a MT but we will be fine. We have pleanty of people that can step up and we can also do some more recruiting.

Prince is Down!

We have constantly been running 2 groups through Kara every week starting on Friday and going till reset. When we started we moved very well, both groups, only to hit a wall at the Curator. We spent probably 3 weeks or more "stuck" at him. Well this past week group 1 went into Kara with a vengence and was determined to down Curator. Well they 1 shot every boss till him and then it was on. Guess what? They 1 shot the curator too! I was not on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday's run due to RL plans. They were doing so well that they didnt want to stop there momentum and would keep going back each night to see how far they could get. Last night I given a spot in the raid and only boss left to kill in that place was the Prince. We cleared to him with 1 wipe due to a Leeroy by a newb rogue, but no big deal. We got to the prince and did about 4 test runs (before potting up) to see the strat and see how hard he actually hit. First attempt we made it to phase 2 no problem only to be boxed in by an infernal. No big deal we expected a wipe. We had 2 locks so we were able to time our SS just right so we never needed to run back. After some adjusting it was time to Pot it up! Everything is well until, oops, the MT's game froze up at about 95%, but he was still tanking, We took it easy to ensure he would stay on top of the threat meter and he tanked "AFK" till about 56% and an enfernal dropped on his head. It was hilarious. 8th attempt, doing great, our first time into phase 3 and we are focused. It looked doomed, we lost a healer and most of our DPS. 15% left, me, mage and the tank. Oh Shit! All i can hear on vent is "dot him up, 15%" Our main tank is the man, He popped everything he could and was MS the hell out of him. He was up to about 22k hp with a lock and mage for DPS. Next thing we know it, Me and the mage are alive and the pince is dead. Talk about amazing. I was sure it was going to be a wipe at 1% with no healers and the tank down, but thank god for affliction spec and my 14 million dots i have to cast!

Some good loots, t4 token went to tank, healing mace went to priest, and AP cloak went to rogue. I didnt get anything, pffft typical. but im not a loot whore or anything.

Crazy Bitches

Man o Man. Do we have a crazy one in our guild. Some days you can play with them and some days they fly off the handle leaving you saying WTF? It really gets to the point that you dont even want to speak in the general direction of them, cause you never know whats going to happen. Maybe they need to get a refill on the meds or a higher dosage. Most people in the guild can handle when Im a dick. They usually just dish it out right back. But it makes it hard for me to be the guild Dick, when your affraid. Not to sound like a little bitch my self, but damn. This is the type of person that if you say the wrong thing too, they might stalk you and leave burning bags of dog poo on your front porch. One day they are going to push me too far and Im going to snap, and I'm not going to be held responsible for what happens next.

Respec

The other day I was told when I logged in that I needed to respec and get to kara. I am now the soaker in the curator fight. I respeced affliction, but was aprehensive to do it as i was doing so much damage as a demonology spec. Now after the respec i have so many dots to put up now and dont have much time to fire my shadow bolt. Not that it makes a difference. I lost about 300 spell damage with the respec and now my shadow bolt is only hitting for about 1200 down from around 2k-2.3k. Thats alot of damage. I dont like this spec, but it is what i am being told is best for raiding. Well shit.

We ran heroic Mech last night. the first heroic since patch 2.1. We found out last night that Mech did not get nurfed, but feels like it got buffed. It took us about 10 attempts on the last boss to get him down and didnt even take down the 2nd boss. I feel that I was really gimped on those fights. I was not able to put out the dps and I think that was were our problems were. On a side not I do like the instant howl of terror. It really comes in handy.

I will probably respec soon, to more of a demonology/affliction and see how that works out. But I'm affraid that my dps still wont be what im used to.

Well I havent posted in a while as I had to take some time from WoW. We had lots of changes going on in the guild and I was at the point where I wasnt having fun anymore playing. I would log in and just jump around the bank in Shatt doing not a thing. I would talk to a few friends but was not motivated to run anything. Well we had some problems in the officer ranks of the guild and it caused our GM to quit and others followed suit. Since most of my in game friends had quit and I was not enjoying myself anymore, I decided to quit too. I canceled my account and realized I was paid up through August. So no big deal, I could return at any time.

I tried to move on to other games. First it was Guild Wars. Well that just plain sucked. I was not used to the controls and couldn't wrap my head around them. It just wasnt WoW. So that was in the trash. Good thing there was no monthly fee to play, just the $30 to purchase the game. Next I moved to Vanguard. Well........what can i say? I have never seen such a bigger peice of shit before in my life. And to top it off i got stuck for $60 for the game and the 1 month fee. I would have rather played guild wars. So now what? The new command and conquer was just around the corner so I waited for its arrival. I loved the last one, it was all i played before starting on WoW. It kinda fell short for me. I guess I have trouble adjusting to change in games that i loved so much. I got used to it now, and I am starting to find my grind and habbits and have grown to like it.

Well I spoke with some of my friends in game about returning to WoW. Most only played for friends and I was the same. I made a deal with one friend, that as soon as certain people left, that he would come back to play. Well low and behold the day I logged back in from my break, We get the message, that we are not progressing fast enough and that they wanted to see the content. I was happy. I called him immediatly and told him to get his ass back in the game. Cause lets face it, it's not the same when you log in to not see the people you always group with not online and you are too much of a hard ass to try to group with unfamiliar poeple.

I'll spare you all the boring shit and skip to today. Things are going good in the guild. We are running 2 Kara groups a week and both groups are clearing to the Curator. Both groups are stuck on him but we are going to get it soon. We are working on resist gear at the moment and trying to get our timing right.

Grinding for Gold

Well it sucks! I was the first in the guild to reach 70 but was not the first to get my flying epic mount. I figured that with the jump start i had on every one else that i would be the first or one of the first to snag my epic mount. Well that couldnt be further from the truth. How could they raise that much gold so quickly i asked. Well apperantly they got really lucky and got a BOE Epic drop from a random mob that sold for 3k gold.

Why can't I be that lucky for that to happen to me? All i know that I am 3k away from obtaining a epic flying mount and dont see one in the near future. Well shit.

On a side note im hoping that blizz will continue the quest line to obtain rep with the netherdrakes so maybe that when i get enough rep i will have the money to buy the riding skill and get a netherdrake. Man they look so hot. Better than some tired old gryphon that i see everytime i travel somewhere in the world. Atleast blizz would have given us the hypogryphs around kalimdor.

Well its been a while since I have posted anything on my blog but should get back into the swing of things now. I had taken a few days off of work to push to level 70. I wasn't as fast as a lot of people, but was able to ding atleast 1 level a day. I mainly did questing to level which was very tiring. I basically spent 18 hours a day for 1 level. That left me with 6 hours of sleep which wasnt too bad. I was the first in the guild to hit 70 by 4 days being the next.

But now that im 70 I have had to wait for everyone else to catch up to me. We have i think 6 70's in the guild. That still leaves 4 spots to even start hitting the 10 man content. I kinda feel that I have out grown my guild. My play style has changed a lot since the expansion has come out and im now more in the fast paced of things. My guild was never considered hard core by any means, but it leaves me yerning for something more. I feel like my time is being wasted by sitting idol waiting or helping others to reach max level when they, themselves, have a more relaxed pace at doing things.

I have upgraded nearly all of my gear with greens and blues along the way but am now at all blues and few epics left over. I'm really glad that I did the pvp grind for my GM mage blade. I have seen a few caster sword/daggers drop that were close but no cigar to the mage blade.

Now I'm at the point of farming for gold. I have put most everything else on the back burner to this as I really want my epic flying mount. I got the standard flying mount only for it to be bitter sweet. I am glad i got one as there is some content only accesable with one but god is it ever slow. At 60% speed increase it makes it slower than my regular epic mount at 100%. But the epic flying mount is a 280% speed increase! So far my farming for gold has been allright. Not as quick as i would like as the AH always gets skewed as people always try to undercut you for the quick sale. I wish I would have farmed leather quicker when the market is high and there were few 70's on the server. Now the AH is flooded with shit and has caused me to curse at the morons that fuck everything up.

Attention Whores

Oh No, not the attention whores. O gawd. We all have attention whores in our guilds. Some are worse than others. Some are cool and witty and funny and we dont mind them cause they always say things to make you laugh, cringe, or just boggle your mind. We have a couple of them in our guild and we always get a kick out of if it and always makes the raids so much funner. I have been guilty of this kind of whoring of the chat/vent channels before.

But what about those whores that are only out for the attention of the raid/guild leader? OMG i just want to punch them in the freakin face. They are the most obvious and everyone knows it but no ones says anything. They are the most fake person in the guild and are always searching for the attention from the others. Bah. Although I hate it so much, I do enjoy the whispers that fly back and forth when some bullshit is said in the raid. That realy makes my raid experience so much better. We all know that we are not going to /gkick someone for being an attention whore, that is just their personality. So instead we just laugh at how pathetic they can be.

I know that we are all guilty of it and I am too. Some do it for different reasons and for brief periods of times. Im sure i could by def be labeled an attention whore, but im my deffense, Im not seeking anybody's attention or approval of anybody. I think i am just the Guild dickhead and in turn i end up getting alot of attention. I always get the whispers from the offices and Raid leader saying, chill out or cut it out it was a mistake, things along those lines. I'm not affraid to call someone out in raid chat for being a dumbass and I feel sometimes a public chastizing of your moronic moves in game are warranted. Hell I would expect it if it was me and I would be the first to own up to a mistake that caused a wipe to 40 people. But hey thats just me.

Last Night In MC

Well I got a kitchen pass last night to be able to raid MC with the guild. We only had around 30 players raiding due to the holidays and people loosing interest in MC now the it is offically on farm status. Our DPS is definatly on par with MC as we tear through the mobs and boss fights with ease even with only 30 people. Althoug we did have a couple of wipes but were due to stupid mistakes or pure bad luck. We are still trying to get the whole decursive situation under control. We wiped on Shaz due to we were short on healers and the ones that were trying to keep the tanks up were have to decurse also and were having trouble juggleing the two. Well we mades some changes to the healers and all went well. We wiped on the next boss also but not sure why. In the middle of the boss fight i had to go afk real quick cause my dogs were causing all kinds of ruckus that i had to go tend to. I came back to a wipe. Was it cause I wasn't there to lay down my sick ass DPS? Well we downed him on the second attempt no problem as we decided to pull ou heads out of our asses, at least that is what i thought......

We wiped on Domo. Why? Cause some one had there Winter's veal grinch out and guess what those grinches go for first. You guessed right, CC. Talk about a bunch of chickens running around with ther heads cut off. Now I have always thought that Domo was a little chaotic, but when something like this happens it gets way more confusing. Well we got him down, of course, and he dropped his usuall stuff.

Since we had wiped on the last 3 bosses and moved so slowly, as we were headed to Rag, we got repops on top of us as we were fighting mobs. Well my time was up and had to hearth out so dont know what happened from there. I am sure they downed rag as was always do. Maybe of the other Locks got there pants.

**Well checking the guild website, I see we didnt down Rag. Dont know if they made to him and couldnt down him and called it or called due to all the trash that respawned on top of them.**

Stupid Real Life

Well shit, I hate it when RL gets in the way of playing WoW. Here latley my RL has got in the way of my WoW life and I havent gotten much time to play. Its not always bad, my wife is here and that is always good. But its the stupid stuff I dont like to do in RL anyways. Like pay bills. I hate them so much.

So what happens to the friends you make in game when RL take over and they no longer play WoW? I tend to get kinda attached to my friends and do consider some of the people i play with online as my friends. why not we talk everday on vent and even talk about RL stuff, not just WoW talk. Right now I feel so distant from my friends now that I have a RL. Is it bad that I get more enjoyment playing a video game with friends that I have never met face to face then I do going to a bar? That is about all there is to do now is go to bars or clubs to drink and chase women. Well im married so scratch chasing women, and I dont like to drink so scratch the drinking. I could get into sports with my coworkers but I live so far away from base at the moment that it's not viable. It becomes to be too much of a chore to drive those long distances. So i find my sactuary in WoW.

I guess what it comes down to is that I miss yall and cant wait to get back to raiding with yall again. I hope yall all had a good Holiday season and can't wait to get back to the level grind with yall when the Xpac comes out.

Only the Strong Survive

I read a lot of blogs while im at work (what else am i going to do? Work? ya right) and came accross this one that was posted in our guild forums.

Raid leader

Now I have no problem with my current guild and have no want to leave for a more Hardcore guild. I enjoy my playtime with my guild and it would take a lot for me to leave.

Opinion:
Now with the disclaimer out of the way, Here is my opinion on this type of raid leader. A lot of people think "Oh what an asshole! I would never stay in a guild like that." Well having gone through leadership school for the Air Force, I learned of many different leadership styles and how people respond to those leaders. Now most of the replies I got were from the younger folks and they say that it is un called for. Well I'm not saying that im old and wise but do have a bit more experience in life and being a veteran I have seen a few more things that what i had experienced in High school.

There is nothing wrong with this leadership style what so ever! Those people choose/applied to be in that guild and also have the right to leave at anytime they please. Those players are there cause they are like minded and strive to be the best on that server. And they are. They all strive for that and that shows they are strong. The weak wouldn't last 10 mins with that guild leader. Hence the saying "Only the strong survive" This is true to life and nature. If you are weak you will not last or you will be forgotten. I would have no problem in that guild or with a GL that was that way. Actually I would find it funny until i was getting picked on. But hey, if im screwing up then i would deserve it, and it would cause me to shape up. In my current line of work this is very important cause it could cost me my life, or my wingman's life.

Now im not saying that our guild is weak by anymeans, but I do know that most people couldn't handle this style of leadership. What most people are missing is the good things that come from that guild. We only see a snapshot of what is going on in that guild and as for all we know, that could be over a span of 3 months of raiding. He may have even given some positive reinforcement in there. We dont know. People tend to focus on the negative in there and miss the good that comes from it.

I Hate Blizzard

Well I finnally got around to sending in the list of items I had missing from my bank since the patch. Almost instantly I recieved an email back from the GM stating that they could replace my items that were lost. WTF? Why even send me an email asking me to send in a listing if they weren't even going to attempt or already knew that they weren't going to replace my items?

What are you supposed to do in the this situation? Bend over and take it? I mean this isn't going to make me cancel my subsciption, but come on. Now I have to go out and grind for all the items I had worked hard for to increase my rep with argent dawn. I'm upset also that I was 2 insignia of the dawn away from getting an 18 slot bag. As a warlock I need all the bag space I can get so I can ensure I pleanty of soul shards for the raids.

THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT!

Well the new patch was bitter sweet. I got to respec all my characters for free and we got new talents to play with. Hell I got my felguard and he rocks. But I went to my bank on patch day and what do i see, all but 1 of my bags are gone along with a shit load of my stuff. Well the buzz around the chat channels was of the same, so i figured that since this was such wide scale problem, of course Blizz will have to address it.

Well I was going to put in a ticket but under the new system it gives updates to the most common problems and said they were going to do a hot fix for it. So I let it ride. Hot Fix came and went and I still didnt have my shit. Well now Im pissed and put in a ticket only to find that they are overwhelmed and have no estimated time to when they are going to respond to my ticket. 2 days later I get an in-game mail from Blizz that says not to do anything with my current ticket and that they have no clue when they will address the ticket. Well Shit. You know i wouldnt really care if it had been some bullshit in my bank but really, who just keeps bullshit in there bank? The items are always there for a reason, no to just store vendor trash, so WTF?

A week later I get the following email from Blizz:

Well all of my enchanting mats were still there cause those items were in my main bank spot but what I'm really pissed about is all of the Argent Dawn rep items I was saving are gone. I hadnt turned a single scourage stone, minion stone, corruptors stone until I hit revered and I'm only half way through honored. Plus all of the other turn ins for tokens to get say the 18 slot bag, I had 7 of those, and the skeletal fragments, iron scaps, and core of elements, GONE! And trinkets i got through quests, GONE! Now i get to submit my list to Blizz and for them to do an investigation.

Now I do work around the servers here at Luke AFB, and know how back up systems work, Why can't they pull the tape for the day before the patch and check my account for what I had. Its not that hard to do. Should take them 30 mins tops to find the correct tape and maybe 1 hour to really check to see what i had. Im so pissed and know that i lost roughly 150 Argent Dawn Stones and probably some where around 5k rep points with this loss and Blizz is going to give the stanard Sorry, stick up your ass!

Guilds

There is something about logging into WoW and have everyone yell your name in guild chat. And it something else to actually be in a guild that clicks and works well together. Before moving over to this guild i was in a extremley small guild of mainly alts and a few mains of very casual players. We had around 50 members to include the alts. I was handed over the guild one day cause the guild leader decided to quit WoW to have a RL. Well I had no clue what I was doing and most of the members /gquit to find better guilds. I still see some of them around but I never talk to them. What causes a guild to be tight? I know it not the lack of drama, cause no matter how tight the guild is there is always going to be drama. Is it the leadership? Is it the followership? Or is it focus? I see and hear a lot around the general chat about guilds disbanding that have been around since release. What is causeing these guilds to disband? What is causing other guilds that try to reform or start out never make it? Our GL does a good job managing the guild, imo, but sometimes I feel he is not tuff enough and that people know that they wont get a /gkick for the shit that they do or act. Is this good for the guild? I understand that /gkicks could easily get out of hand but sometimes I feel that it is warranted. If not a /gick a /rkick and a stern warining. I do know that mistakes happen but being a dumb ass over and over is not a mistake, except for that fact that they are in the raid in the first place. Will a few strategicaly placed /gkick cause the guild to disband? I dont think so. I think it will let the membership know we mean business. We can still have fun and cut up, but sometimes people dont fit into our "mold" of the guild and do nothing but cause trouble.

Maybe this is why my guild disbanded. But I never /gkick anyone from the guild. Maybe i was just a noob.

Loot Whore

What is a Loot Whore?

Every time I roll on a item or bid for an item I have a friend that always pst's me "Loot Whore" It doesnt bother me cause I know he is just messin with me, but who doesnt want better loot?

I feel that we all raid for the loot. It gives us a way to show our accomplishments as a raiding guild of how far we have gone.

Now the Loot Whore is the person that never shows up to raids or jumps in on the second day of an instance and wants all the loots with out having to put in the work to get them. We have a couple in the guild and sometimes it does create drama but we always overcome.

So if there is Loot Whores in your guild, is there a Loot Pimp? Would this be the master looter? The raid leader? Or the person that refuses to take any gear until everybody gets their full set? I think it is the later. We do have a few people in the guild that feel this way and are always forced to take loot but they always feel bad for it. Sometimes this is just at bad as the loot whore. The pimp is only hurting guild proggression by not taking the loot to be on par with the rest of the raid.

PVP

Well since the patch I found myself doing more pvp than normally. I initially spec'd 17/0/34 to turn out more damage in raids. When going into a battle ground I found that I wasn't for pvp. I didnt put the right talents points in destruction to be viable in BG's and didnt have enough talent points to go deep enough in the afflicition tree to do the damage either. I respec'd to 5/41/5 with imp corruption for instant cast, 41 to get my felguard, and imp shadowbolt. I was sceptical about the spec initially but have found that I own in BG's and now I found that do way more damage in raids. Last MC I was on top of the Damage meter for most of the night until we hit Garr and I had to focus on my banishes instead of dpsing. Overall for the night I came out 3rd on the meter behind a rogue and a T2 lock.

This spec is killer for pvp. Everybody always hollars "Nerf Locks" but actually i dont feel that way, and that is not just a bias casue my main is a lock. When a locks steps foot into a BG DPS is focused on that lock, We dont last as long, plus we are useless against rogues. I am always getting owned by rogues especially if they get first hit. Any stun or fear on a lock and we are done. Are biggest defense is Death Coil and it has a cooldown so we screwed if we can spam it as soon as we are no longer stunned. I feel that most people know that if they go 1 on 1 with a lock, felfguard or not, that they will usually get owned, so people now seem to take out locks before healers now.

I really enjoy pvping even though i know that as soon as the BG starts I know I am target number 1. Even when we loose at WSG or AB, I still like to atleast do some killing. Most people just afk and try to get some honor (the few we get now from HK's) from the few that actually try to put up a fight.

I really want to get the GM dagger and off hand before the expansion comes out but with the holidays and my wife being in town I have very little time now to even log in. Man I miss playing WoW.

Well this is my fisrt attempt at blogging and I felt that what better to blog about than my life in World of Warcraft! I spend loads of time playing I really enjoy it. I have made lots of friends in game and have some enemies too.

My Main is Scorcher, a Human Lock level 60 on Medivh. I am 7/8 T1 and 1/8 T2 with other random epics and 1 blue item left. ( that space is waiting for my Felheart pants to drop in MC) I am a member of Guardians of Fate guild. We are a casual raiding guild that is part way through BWL.

My other 60 is Vertebrae, a Human Pally with like 1 piece of T1 and few pieces of T0. I dont play him much anymore cause I have moved my main as my lock. Vert just wasnt as fun as Scorcher was so I switched over. My guild was kind enough to allow me to do this since we had just started MC at that time.

I will get more stuff on my blog as soon as I get around to it. This is probably going to be a casual Blog and my grammar and spelling is not the best, so for all of you Grammar Police out there, F*** Off!
